I like Harbor Freight for things where the quality doesn’t matter or if you’re only going to use it a few times. Wire brushes? Why not get cheap ones since you’re just going to destroy them on the floor of your Toyota anyway? Parts washing bin? Just needs to hold diesel fuel and engine parts. Real tools? Lol, no.

Yeah, there’s times when I go harbor freight and times when I don’t. I wanted to teach myself how to weld, $100 harbor freight did the job. I want a quality multimeter? I got a Fluke 8060A for $20 from some guy because it was an old style. I want a multimeter I won’t feel bad about when it gets caught in the crank driven fan? $3.50 at harbor freight.

That said, Tekton from Amazon has actually been surprisingly consistently good. Not great, I’ll still take a Crescent tool over them any day. But I haven’t had anything that made me think “pile of poo” yet.

Craftsman screwdrivers though? Honestly, some of the worst I own.

I like how all the coupons increase the prices.

Yeah, I’ve got a couple old Craftsman screwdrivers that are great. But only a couple and they’re all standard. So, I bought a set of standard/Philips drivers from Craftsman, and they’re awful. They are so soft and easy to bend they may as well be made of cheese.

Who makes quality screwdrivers at a decent price these days?

Oh, I agree. I wouldn’t touch probably 95% of the shit they carry. Sometimes it’s great to pick up a ton of wire brushes for $10 when most places are charging nearly that much per brush.

Klein makes a good screw driver. They aren’t cheap, but they’re not Snap-On expensive. In the electrical department of Home Depot.

These old parody ads are great, and very accurate. There are a few more floating around on the internet as well.

Though they do carry some decent stuff, like disposable gloves, tarps, basic tools, etc. that aren’t pure junk. Even their torque wrenches have been found to be accurate.

Most of their basic hand tools have a lifetime warranty.

Extension cord/Hose combo is definitely my favorite. Another good one would be “male to male” extension cord but too many people would probably actually believe that was real.
